I’m Frederik Kleingarn, the founder of Westend Analytics. During a three-month internship at a small-cap private equity fund in Munich, two questions came up repeatedly: Is this market large enough for a buy & build strategy? And where are the next acquisition targets for an existing platform?
Answering them meant hours of manual research, often without a complete view of the market at the end. I saw how software, data science, and AI could make the process faster and the results more thorough — giving investment teams more time to assess the market and focus on the right companies.
I started Westend Analytics to build those tools for private equity funds and their portfolio companies: practical software that maps markets, surfaces decision-relevant information, and turns recurring research into repeatable workflows.
